If you didn’t get a news crew out to your event or didn’t get asked to participate in a segment don’t worry you’ve got one more chance. Provide an event summary. Reach back out to your media contact and provide them with a recap of how successful the event was or quotes from community members and data/facts around why it is an important message to get out. Provide visuals in either video or picture format. Stories with visuals will always be considered above those without any as it boosts engagement.
