Local legislative support is always the best place to start when working with a small area coalition. Making connections with government leaders is always a good idea. They work with the communities and are open to hearing about issues affecting their constituents and progress being made to better their communities. If they can’t help you directly, they can usually put you in contact of someone who can. In-person meetings are always the best way to make an impactful impression but remember, the first step is always outreach.
