What does the steering committee do? It might help to think of them a type of governing device. They can be used to organize key project stakeholders and empower them to steer a project to successful outcomes. The members help guide the coalition. They need to be searching for whatever needs to be done in order to ensure the success of your coalition. These members should help determine what challenges exist while revealing what other factors need to be taken into account and managed. The last thing you want is for them to turn up once a month to have a few questions and engage in mostly meaningless discussion. Learn more about creating action-oriented agendas in lesson 8.
